New Stamps in the Etsy Shop!

Hello friends!
It's NEW STAMP FRIDAY here on the blog and over on the etsy shop we have NEW STAMPS ready to ship home to you!

First up, is our CALENDAR stamp set, that does a lot more than calendars! Here is the birthday calendar I am in the process of making, but have enough done to share with you today!  I used all the HYMN GIRLS that have a month in their title except for AUGUST because she is laying down and it didn't work in this set up so I used HYMN GIRLS: SUMMER FLIP FLOP instead for August.  My office is where I plan to hang this and it is very  white with pops of a peachy pink color so I wanted this to coordinate with that:
Here is a close up of one where I have dates in it already.  I will hand write the names of each person whose birthday is on that date in January:
Here is the brand new CALENDAR stamp set (found with the 4x6" sets on the etsy shop)  I made the shapes so they can go around the numbers, in case you wanted to highlight some:

I use the CALENDAR stamp each week for the 52 Weeks of Scripture Memorization in a Grateful Journal over on the GodblessyourART blog  for the months and dates there too (you can click to make the picture larger:
In that photo you will see the pink words from the other new stamp set: BIBLE ART JOURNALING: COLORABLE WORDS:

All the clear stamps can bend to create different affects when you stamp them:
Above is a close up of the new BIBLE ART JOURNALING: COLORABLE WORDS in that journal.
And here are some cards I made with this set.  I stamped faith hope and love in a light pink ink to make the background of my card, then colored in one of the LOVE words and added a heart sticker and Inspired Stamps: 2x2 1CORINTHIANS 13:13:

I like the simplicity of this card, with the verse inside!

I'll be posting my next Bible Art Journaling posts over on the GodblessyourART blog later today.
Head over to the store and take a look at the new stamps:

New Stamps FRIDAY +Scripture Cards + Masking

Hello friends!
I hope this finds you well!  We have some Design Team gals who have been sick and also taking care of sick kiddos this week so I am going to join the rest of the Design Team gals with SCRIPTURE CARDS today so they can rest and recuperate!  Feel better ladies!!

First up, is our Design Team gals who have made beautiful cards for you today, with their focus being SCRIPTURE:
Kary starts us off with this beautiful card using John 10:17-18 and one of our 2x2" stamps: SHEEP LAYING:
Chere shares a comforting card using Inspired Stamps: COMFORT:
Shanta has this great 2x2 Inspired Stamps: ISAIAH 40:31 focused card:

And Jamie's card is next where she did some background stamping with the FLOWER VALUE SET
stamp set in addition to her verse stamp that is also on that same stamp set!
And Jamie's card inspired me (and many of you!) last week when she posted this card:
Using the HYMN GIRLS: BANNER stamp set:

I created a couple of cards in black and white today (I am a huge colorer, so this showed GREAT RESTRAINT on my part lol), and I used the masking technique on both of them.  Masking just allows you to stamp what comes in FRONT first, then  you protect what you've stamped with a piece of paper or sticky note, while you then stamp what comes BEHIND your first image.  So in Jamie's example above, she stamped the JOY banner, masked it, then stamped the HYMN GIRL.

Here's my black and white sample (I used LOVE since Valentine's Day is coming up soon):
First I stamped the banner 'line' that she will hold.  Then the hearts, then the letters from the stamp set.  You can have them touch the line or use a thin black pen to extend the line if you want them hanging lower than the stamp line allows (like I did).
I held the stamp of the HYMN GIRL over to see what would be impacted by stamping her over this banner.  Just the 'o' and 'v' hearts would be impacted, so I stamped the heart onto sticky notes (make sure you stamp on the paper where you know some of the sticky part is located on the opposite side so they will be sticky and stay in place when you cut them out and place them!)

Then you stamp on top of this:
This is what it looks like (notice I got a black line on the paper too...I'll deal with that with the sticky sparkles I put on later!)
When you remove the sticky note hearts, you can now see she looks like she stands BEHIND the banner:
And here is the finished card:
Scripture inside:
Here's another one I made in black-n-white, where I masked the HYMN GIRLS: SITTING WITH SIGN after I stamped her, then stamped the mushroom from the HYMN: MUSHROOMS AND LEAVES stamp set so she could appear to be sitting on the mushroom. I used a verse for her sign from the THINKING OF YOU stamp set:
I hope you enjoyed today's cards!

Photo Tutorial: Coloring with ink pads (52 Weeks of Caring Cards: week 4)

Hello friends,
For today's Caring Card post, I have a short photo tutorial on how to color using your ink pads.  Sometimes you need a little color on a character or image (such as the flowers above) but you don't have a lot of time or you just want a more watercolored look (without all of the watercoloring tools!).

I've shown before that I created the HYMN LINE of stamps with the ability to be colored with just a sponge (I use sponge daubers) and an ink pad around the edges (Here is HYMN GIRLS: JUNE with just a dauber and ink around the edges---took seconds to color her!):

Today I stared with these materials (and a green ink pad I didn't get a photo of!)
I took the sponge dauber and inked around her:
In order to add more depth to the inside of her face and areas the sponge dauber can't reach, I took a dry paint brush and put more ink in those areas:

I wanted more color to her face (cheeks) and apron so I dampened my paint brush and put some of the victorial velvet ink on:

I wanted the framing flower from this stamp pad  but wanted to keep the same muted colors so I used a dampened paint brush and colored in some of the flower:
I added glitter and stamped a scrap piece of paper to show you the subtle difference the color and a little glitter makes:
Here is a close up of the flower on the card:
Here is the HYMN GIRL: ORNAMENTS character on the card:
 The finished card:
 And the inside:
I used the following Inspired Stamps for this project:

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Thursday is our amazing Design Team creations and on Friday around noon you'll find NEW STAMPS in the etsy shop as it's our NEW STAMP RELEASE DAY!!

Today there are 3 stamps new to the ETSY store:
Up first is one I have gone to again and again since I got it, BIBLE ART JOURNALING: PHRASES
This is a MUCH NEEDED stamp if you do any type of Bible Study or Card Making!  I have used this over and over in the margin of my Bible and used it to make a number of cards (all shown below):
BIBLE ART JOURNALING: PHRASES  (in ART JOURNALING) on the etsy shop:  A 4x6" set: $12.99

Next up is...
BIBLE ART JOURNALING: STITCHES AND BULLET POINTS  (found in Art Journaling on the etsy shop; 4x6" set; $12.99)
THIS SET ROCKS!  I love love love stitches on all of my artwork, but wanted a variety!  I also wanted to be able to divide thoughts (these do that) and use cute bullet points in my bible margins when making a list!  Plus these shapes can be used stand alone for all kinds of artwork...love this set!

And finally one we have not had in stock for a long time...and making its debut in the etsy shop is...
INSPIRED SHAPES  (found in Art Journaling in the etsy shop) comes on a 4x6" sheet; $12.99
This set is so versatile, I am not surprised it is hard to keep on our shelves!  The Art Journaler can find tons of things to do with these great shapes and the cardmaker can too.  Let's see some examples of artwork below:
Up first...Do you see the stamps from all 3 stamp sets? I also used one of our 2x2" single stamps: 2 SAMUEL 22:31:

I created a little tutorial on this next card so you can make one like it:
Here are the items I gathered to use.  The red piece of paper is a little bigger than my verse and I only use it to mask (keeping a white square under where my ink blots are from the INSPIRED SHAPES stamp set:
I remove the red square mat paper and then stamp my verse
(Inspired Stamps 2x2" stamp: ROMANS 8:28; $3.99)
I add some of the stitches from the new INSPIRED STAMPS  BIBLE ART JOURNALING: Stitches and Bullet Points and the REMEMBER THIS from the new Bible Art Journaling: PHRASES stamp set:
Used all 3 new stamp sets inside:
These stamps are perfect to use in your Bibles when you make notes in the margins and for your Bible Study Journals as well.  Here's a peek at a page I did using all 3 of these stamp stets:
If you enjoy Bible Art Journaling and mixed media, be sure to head over to my other blog and check it out!  I have a wonderful journal I'm sharing a little later today along with more of this Bible Art Journaling page above:
